Record Grading Scale

I use the following grading scale to indicate the quality of the records and sleeves:

  1. Excellent Records:
    1. M = Mint (perfect)
    2. M- = Mint minus (near perfect)
    3. VG+ = Very Good plus (a very nice copy with only minimal wear or minor surface noise)

  1. Very Good Records:
    1. VG = Very Good (well played over the years, with noticable audio or visual wear)
    2. VG- = Very Good minus (significant audio or visual wear)

  1. Below Average Records:
    1. G = Good (plays but with serious flaws)

Note: I do not use the EX rating. In my grading scale, VG+ = EX. A VG+ rating indicates an excellent record that is not quite Mint-.
