Record Grading Scale
I use the
following grading scale to indicate the quality of the records and sleeves:
- Excellent Records:
- M = Mint (perfect)
- M- = Mint minus (near
perfect)
- VG+ = Very Good plus (a
very nice copy with only minimal wear or minor surface noise)
- Very Good Records:
- VG = Very Good (well
played over the years, with noticable audio or visual wear)
- VG- = Very Good minus
(significant audio or visual wear)
- Below Average Records:
- G = Good (plays but with
serious flaws)
Note: I do not use the EX rating.
In my grading scale, VG+ = EX. A VG+ rating indicates an excellent record that
is not quite Mint-.
